ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA

Performed at Hoffman Auditorium on the campus of Saint Joseph College (1678 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford) 

Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life on the Hartford Children’s Theatre stage in this delicious new musical adaptation of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”  Willy Wonka and his band of Oompa Loompas lead Charlie Bucket, the spoiled-rotten Veruca Salt, gluttonous Augustus Gloop, gum-chewing Violet Beauregarde and television junkie Mike Teavee through a labyrinth of lemon drops, life lessons and giggles galore.  A scrumptious treat for the entire family, WILLY WONKA features plenty of surprises and memorable songs from the cult classic 1971 film including, “Pure Imagination,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” “I Want it Now” and “The Candy Man.” 


Approximate running time is 2 hours • Suitable for all ages  

Ticket Prices:
$18 for Adults
$13 for Seniors & Students 17 and under
 $10 for all currently enrolled HCT students

Friday, September 24 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, September 25 at 10 a.m.
Sunday, September 26 at 2 p.m.
Friday, October 1 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 2 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Sunday, October 3 at 2 p.m.

There will be two student matinees on Wednesday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m and Thursday September 30th at 10:00 a.m.  Discounted group tickets are available for schools and other organizations. Attend the Opening Night performance and receive your very own Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Extravaganza where you’ll be treated to scrumptious chocolate dishes from the city of Hartford’s finest restaurants during a delectable pre-show reception.  Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas will be on-hand to guide you through the irresistible chocolate buffet.  Meet Connecticut's Hit Music Station KISS 95.7 DJ Prolifik as he broadcasts live from the lobby. 

Saturday, October 2 at 9 a.m. • Admission is $6
Willy Wonka is opening his factory for a special breakfast event on Saturday, October 2.  Guests of the factory will enjoy a scrumptious chocolate-filled breakfast with Willy Wonka and friends.  Families are invited to participate in photo opportunities with the cast and children will enjoy a “make your own candy” activity with the Oompa Loompas.
