HARTFORD CHILDREN’S THEATRE announces open auditions for GEPPETTO & SON
THURSDAY, FEBUARY 11 and SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2010

Performances of GEPPETTO & SON will take place at Hoffman Auditorium on the campus of Saint Joseph College in West Hartford April 30 through May 9, 2010.

Roles are available for Adults and Children age 8 and over.

Performers should come prepared to sing 16 measures of an appropriate song of their choosing and provide sheet music for the accompanist. A short dance combination will also be required.

AUDITION TIMES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Thursday, February 11
6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Children ages 8 – 17
7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Adults ages 18 and up

Saturday, February 13
6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Children ages 8 – 17
7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Adults ages 18 and up

Callbacks will be held by invitation on Monday, February 15 at 6:00 pm.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
GEPPETTO: A renown toy maker who wishes for a child of his own. Late 20’s and older.

BLUE FAIRY: A sassy fairy full of personality who will make all your dreams come true. 20’s and up.

PINOCCHIO: A wooden boy with a knack for getting into trouble and a strong desire to be a real boy. Age 9 – 16.

STROMBOLI: A not so impressive puppeteer who has seen better days. Speaks with an exaggerated Italian accent and has a flair for dramatics. Late 20’s and older.

BUONRAGAZZO: An inventor with a passion to create the "perfect child." Early 20’s and up.

JUNIOR: Buonragazzo's child (perhaps an early experiment). Age 8 – 13.

RINGLEADER: The Ringleader of Pleasure Island - an adult who lets kids do whatever they want (for a price). Early 20’s and up.

MRS. GIOVANNI: Pinocchio's first teacher. Age 20’s and up.

BERNARDO and MARIA: A young, loving couple seeking the perfect child with Professor Buonragazzo’s assistance. Late teen – early 20’s.

MARIONETTE: Stromboli’s featured puppet who is all too wise to his string pulling! Age 8 – teens.

ENSEMBLE: There are several featured roles for children ages 8 – teen as well as adults.
