Hartford Children’s Theatre’s mission is to enrich the lives of the children of Greater Hartford by providing access and exposure to high quality theatre for young audiences and related educational opportunities.

Hartford Children’s Theatre Programming includes:

Main Stage Programming: A full season of theatre for young audiences plays produced by professional directors and designers.

Education Department Programming: Year-round opportunities for young people ages 3-18, including the HCT Drama School, Outreach Drama Programs and Artist Residencies in local schools, School Vacation Performance Programs, Hartford Summer Youtheatre, and a variety of special projects in partnership with other local organizations.

Hartford Children’s Theatre’s commitment to excellence was honored by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education’s prestigious Winifred Ward Award for Outstanding New Children’s Theatre in 1993, as well as by the New England Theatre Conference’s Moss Hart Award in both 1998 and 2004.
