SPRING VACATION PROGRAM

Hartford Children’s Theatre announces an exciting new Spring Vacation program for elementary and middle school students. This theatre immersion program will be an active week of theatre workshops, rehearsals, and performances. Each student will be cast in a performance inspired by one of three Schneider Family Award winning books.

The Schneider Family Book Awards honor an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences. Books must emphasize the artistic expression of the disability experience for children and or adolescent audiences and portray some aspect of living with a disability or that of a friend or family member, whether the disability is physical, mental or emotional.

The books to be used during this year’s program are:
- Dad, Jackie, and Me by Myron Uhlberg; Illustrated by Colin Bootman
- My Pal Victor/Mi Amigo, Victor by Diane Gonzales Bertrand, Illustrated by Robert L. Sweetland
- Looking Out for Sarah by Glenna Lang
